Are You Happy?
This morning, while reading How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, this sentence (I’m sure there’ll be more) stood out to me. “It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”
It made me think about how some of us go about our day and not even acknowledge one another, let alone smile.
Whether it be the person at the toll booth, the cashier at your local store, or just someone sitting next to you on your commute to work, sharing a simple smile can help change their mood, and yours. If it makes it worse, well then that’s an entirely different issue.
SMILE! Someone needs it!
We all face obstacles at one point or another and will more than likely face more. Don’t let it stop you from getting to your goal. If you need help, ask for it! Even if you just need a little boost. Pray, ask a friend, mentor, etc. Everyone needs help or guidance at one time or another.
Share your sunshine and encouragement. Someone somewhere needs exactly what you have. Be a blessing…
“Press on – nothing can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Perseverance and determination alone are omnipotent.”
